Treatments

Below are the treatment types that I offer. I have also briefly explained the difference between maintenance and rehabilitation treatments to better inform which is the best option for you. If you have any questions about treatments then please
contact me.

Remedial/Sports Massage

Maintenance

You do not have any major issues with your body however you may have a few niggles (a suspected knot) that you would like to be seen to.
Maintenance massage is the treatment for you! The point of a maintenance massage is to keep an eye on how your muscles are doing and try to address any budding imbalances before they cause problems.

  • Initial consultation brief and informal.
  • Miantenace massages are generally once a month.

Rehabilitation

You have a specific injury or condition which you wish to be addressed. This can be anything from a Sprained ankle to a Chronic widespread pain.
The point of rehabilitation treatment is to address a specific injury or issue in your body.

  • Initial consulation in depth to fully understand your presentation.
  • Depending on the injury more frequent massages may be required or referral to other options.

Myofascial Cupping

Person received Myofascial Cupping treatments.
Myofascial Cupping is an ancient form of alternative therapy dating back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Middle Eastern cultures. Special cups are suctioned to the skin using a pump. The negative pressure created draws the surrounding tissues into the cup.

Myofascial Cupping can have huge benefits for the body, such as:
  • Improve circulation, blood and lymph circulation.
  • Release fascial adhesions.
  • Promote mobility and range of motion.

The cups may leave marks on the skin, these can be visible from anywhere from an hour to a week or so.

Facial Acupressure

Acupressure is a traditional Chinese medicine healing method that involves applying pressure to certain meridian and vessel points. Energy (Qi: pronounced ‘chee’) flows along meridian pathways that connect acupressure points on the body.  Qi flows freely when your body is healthy. Your health may be negatively affected if your Qi becomes deficient or blocked. Qi can be strengthened, rebalanced, or calmed with acupressure.

Facial Acupressure can benefit in many ways:
  • Easing the mind and restoring focus.
  • Headache, Jaw and tooth ache relief.
  • Healthier skin.

In addition to the acupressure and facial massage I treat the shoulders and the neck, further alleviating any stress and tension. This can be added onto treatments, please just make me aware of your wishes.
